Watertightness testing
The watertightness of pipe connections can only be tested vaguely by way of a visual survey. Therefore, special test packers are used which test the watertightness of the sockets using water or air overpressure. Existing connections and repaired partial sections are both tested after renovation.
The operator moves the test packer to the pipe connection point to be tested. The packer cuff presses the internal wall of the pipe, hermetically sealing off the test area. Now, the watertightness of the pipe connection is tested using air pressure or the change in water level.
